Our Story
Heriz Gallery is owned by Javad Shokouhbin and Majid Saffari who were both born in Iran (former Persia). Steeped in knowledge of Persian culture, they have a deep and sincere passion for the famous Persian rug industry, that is thousands of years old.
The store has its roots in Javad’s father’s successful antique and Persian rug business that he started in Persia in 1950. In the mid 1990’s – the birth of the new South Africa – Javad and Majid opened Heriz Gallery in Johannesburg.
