Established in 1950 in Teheran, Iran, by Majid Shokouhbin, Heriz Gallery started out as a supplier of antiques and hand-woven carpets to countries in Europe, North America, South America, Africa and the Middle East. Heriz Gallery still trades today from the Grand Bazaar of Teheran, Iran, and continues to supply a loyal foreign customer base. In 1999, Heriz Gallery opened on South African shores as a wholesale supplier to carpet retailers. In 2006, Javad Shokouhbin and Majid Saffari joined forces to bring you a unique carpet experience in the form of Heriz Gallery, Fourways.

In collaboration with interior decorators, manufacturers and carpet designers, they strive to add special items to an already-impressive collection every year in an effort to bring you the ultimate in variety. A buyer who finds the whole idea of Persian and Oriental carpets daunting will soon realise that the story is actually quite simple, and that every single piece has been hand-woven with care, dedication, even passion – an increasingly elusive cocktail in modern life.
